FEES

The practice fees are based on the schedule recommended by the Australian Medical Association (AMA).  A copy of our fee schedule is located in the surgery waiting room.  Medical billing can be complex so please ask for an explanation if you are uncertain.  Fees are payable at the time of consultation

 

We accept cash and most credit cards and have EFTPOS and HICAPS facilities.

 

Health care card holders and pensioners receive a substantial discount.

 

Please Note:  East Geelong Medical Centre is a private clinic - payment is made on the day of consultation.  We can submit your Medicare claim on your behalf.  If you have your bank account details registered with Medicare, your rebate usually goes into your account within 24-48 hours.

Private Patients

 

The fee for a standard consultation is $86.00 paid on the day, at the time of consultation.  


The current Medicare rebate for a standard consultation is $39.10.

Concession Cardholders

 

The fee for a standard consultation for concession card holders is  $60.00 paid on the day, at the time of consultation.  


The current Medicare rebate for a standard consultation is $39.10.

Please bring your card to all consultations

 

Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) Cardholders

 

East Geelong Medical Centre directly bills the DVA for veterans with gold cards, and for veterans with white cards for accepted illnesses. 

 

Transport Accident Commission (TAC) Cardholders

 

TAC consultations are billed at the rate determined by the TAC for traffic accident injuries and illnesses. All consultations require full payment on the day by the patient. East Geelong Medical Centre directly bills the TAC only if the TAC has accepted full liability, if you provide us with your TAC claim number and if all excess payments have been met by you. 

Victorian WorkCover Authority

 

WorkCover consultations are billed at the rate determined by the Victorian WorkCover Authority for work related injuries and illnesses. All consultations require full payment on the day by the patient. East Geelong Medical Centre directly bills the Victorian WorkCover Authority only if the Victorian WorkCover Authority has accepted liability and if you provide us with your Workcover claim number.
